Marco Bezzecchi so close to the podium in the Sprint in Indonesia

The rider of the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team is among the protagonists of the Saturday with the fourth final place. Fabio Di Giannantonio also did well in P9

Mandalika (Indonesia), September 28th 2024 – Amazing Sprint race by Marco Bezzecchi at the Indonesian GP (Sunday 03.00 pm local time) which takes place this weekend in Mandalika. After the excellent P2 in qualifying, the rider of then Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team signs the fourth place after a race among the protagonists. Positive notes also for Fabio, ninth under the checkered flag.

Fourth at the first corner, Marco immediately imposes his pace with a series of fastest laps and climbs the rankings to the second place. In the slipstream of Bagnaia, less than a tenth behind him, he is forced to go wide at turn 10 to avoid a crash. Finding himself in P4 at the end, he maintains the position until the finishing line. He is 11th in the general classification with 114 points.

Ninth today and also ninth in the riders standings (122 points), Fabio who after a good qualifying (he started from P8) manages to confirm himself in the Top10 at the end of a good battle in the group. Marco Bezzecchi - 72

A real shame, we were very fast and also close to the Top riders. At the variant between turns 8/9 I had a movement on the bike, something that I had already previously during the weekend. I then braked at 10, but the pads opened. I need to brake again and went wide to avoid Pecco (Bagnaia). I then tried to recover, but I didn't succeed. We were there and that's the important thing. I had a different compound than the others, it wasn't a gamble, but it was the one I felt best with. I haven't decided yet the tire for tomorrow, there are more options open, but I'm positive, I'm riding very well.

Fabio Di Giannantonio - 49

Let's start from qualifying, a real shame because, as on other occasions, we suffered a lot from the grip at the rear. In the race then, the intensity was really high, I tried to manage and push, but I couldn't do it anymore at the end. We knew it and for this reason we have to take the positive: we are there, we are fast and with the average, which we will use tomorrow, the effort is less on a physical level. A bittersweet day but a positive Saturday overall.
