No time to rest, Barcelona awaits

Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli are back on track for the Monster Energy GP of Catalunya, sixth round of the 2026 MotoGP season.

In a blink of an eye, MotoGP is back to action this weekend for the Monster Energy GP of Catalunya: the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team is ready to face this second back-to-back weekend of the season – the first one in Europe – with Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli, who are determined to show their potential on a completely different track to the previous one.

Di Giannantonio arrives to Barcelona in third place in the World Standing with 84 points. He is confident that at the Circuit de Barcelona – Catalunya too he can confirm his good performance from these first races, that allowed him to have his best MotoGP season start of his career.

Morbidelli is eager to be back on track, and this weekend arrives to Barcelona with a lot of confidence: the first races have been tough and the goal at the Circuit de Barcelona – Catalunya is to continue working to be back on the top positions. On the Catalan track – where he got a pole position in 2020 and he claimed a fourth place as his best MotoGP result in that same year – Franco arrives in fifteenth place of the World Standing with 27 points.

The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team will hit the track on Friday for free practice, while qualifying will take place on Saturday (10:50 local time). The Sprint race will start at 15:00 (local time) on Saturday, while the Monster Energy GP of Catalunya will conclude on Sunday with the race, starting at 14:00 (local time).

FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO
“We are back on track right away! For me it’s good, because I miss MotoGP every time I’m not riding for a bit of time. The Barcelona weekend is always amazing, with a lot of fans! It’s a very beautiful track, and I’ve always loved to race here. Moreover, it’s very different from Le Mans, we change from a track with a lot of grip to another one with very very little grip. We will try to play our cards and to take advantage of this change of conditions. It’s not the most suitable for us, a priori, but we will try to make it make it so. We have many things to try, both in the weekend and in the testing day on Monday. We believe in that!”

FRANCO MORBIDELLI
“Now we head to Barcelona, a completely different track from Le Mans, where we raced some days ago. I can’t wait for Friday and the weekend overall to arrive. I am eager to be back at work with all my team to try to understand even more the bike performance. The track time is all we need. We must ride, collect data and information. We have everything to do this kind of work, so I am happy to be Montmelo right away. The we will have a testing day after the weekend, and it will be crucial.”
