The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team is fifth on Saturday of British GP with Fabio Di Giannantonio, who gets precious points for the championship. Positive day for Franco Morbidelli too, who is eighth at the Sprint chequered flag.
The first Sprint of the comeback from the summer break proved to be more challenging than expected for the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team, which was fifth at the finish line with Fabio Di Giannantonio. However, the balance is still positive thanks to both the points he got for the championship and the double Top10 for the team: Franco Morbidelli ended his Sprint in eighth place.
After securing the fourth place in Qualifying (1’56”415), Di Giannantonio had a good start from the second row which allowed him to got into the podium fight from the very first corners. Fabio showed a good consistency throughout the first half of the race, being always near the top positions and confirming he is a key player. But the tyre managing prevented him from getting the Top3, and he ended his Silverstone Sprint in fifth place. With this result, Di Giannantonio is fifth in the World Standing with 189 points.
It was a positive Saturday for Morbidelli, who passed through Q1 in this morning’s Qualifying and he was eight on the grid (1’56”889). Franco started from the third row and was able to stay in the Top10 fight, showing improvements and materializing the jobe done so far. The Italian Brazilian rider had a solid Sprint, and he finished in eighth place after some overtakes in the last two laps. Morbidelli now sits sixteenth in the World Standing with 48 points.
The British GP will conclude tomorrow with the main race, which is scheduled for 1 p.m. (local time, +1 UTC).

“I am quite disappointed, because I am one of the best riders to manage the tyres usually, but today we couldn’t do it. In the first laps I was feeling strong and I thought I was not stressing the tyres too much, then the drop arrived and it was tough. For sure, we learnt a lesson. Now, we analyse the situation together with Ducati to improve and not to replicate such a difficult race. However, everyone is doing a great job, the team, Ducati and I. I think tomorrow it will be better and everything will be more manageable. The goal is to be back to normality as the other races an keep fighting.”
FRANCO MORBIDELLI
“It was a positive day, today I did everything well, especially in Qualifying: it was good to see a 57”1 in Q1, then passing to Q2 and improving by setting a 56”8. So, I am happy with the Qualifying. In the Sprint, I started well and we could show a good consistency. If I had done a little better in the first three laps, I would probably be further up, and we had the potential to be close to the Top4 despite the tyres drop. But we can be satisfied with our eighth place today. The team did a great job, we are working well. We are focusing on some riding details. Tomorrow we aim to confirm we can be there.”
