Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli are ready for the Italian GP: the home race is always special, and the team will wear a special edition capsule to celebrate it.
The Italian GP has arrived, it’s one of the most anticipated events for the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team, which arrives to the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello with a lot of confidence after Fabio Di Giannantonio’s victory in Barcelona. It will be a weekend with extra energy for the Tavullia-based team, which secured second place in the Sprint in 2023 and a podium last year on the Italian track. Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli’s goal will be to confirm the positive momentum and the strong steps forward.
Di Giannantonio is ready to face the Mugello weekend with a lot of excitement after his first victory with the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team in Barcelona two weeks ago. Fabio, who is third in the World Standing with 116 points, is back on his Ducati Desmosedici GP after missing the testing day at the Circuit de Barcelona – Catalunya to recover from the crash in the race (before the red flag) and to prepare the home race weekend. At the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello, the rider from Rome secured his first pole position in MotoGP (in 2022) and three podiums (two second places and a third plase from 2016 to 2018 in Moto3), adding last year third place.
At the Mugello Circuit, Morbidelli is eager to confirm the steps forward he showed in Barcelona both during the weekend and in the testing day. Franco arrives to his home race (his second one this year after Brazil) with a lot of confidence after he got the front row at the Catalunya GP. This shows the huge work in the garage and on track to be back on the top positions. The Italian Brazilian rider, who is fifteenth in the World Standing with 36 points, was fourth in the Sprint in 2024 and secured a pole position (in Moto2 in 2017).
The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team will wear a special edition capsule dedicated to the Italian GP to celebrate the home race. The jersey is available both on VR46 Tribe and Kappa Sport.
The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team will hit the track on Friday for free practice, while qualifying will take place on Saturday (10:50 local time). The Sprint race will start at 15:00 (local time) on Saturday, while the Italian GP will conclude on Sunday with the race, starting at 14:00 (local time).
FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO
“It’s amazing to race at Mugello, such an iconic and one-of-a-kind circuit! I have many good memories on this track, I claimed my first pole position in MotoGP and last year I secured a podium with my team, it was a special Sunday! We arrive to the Italian GP with confidence after my victory in Barcelona, my first one with the team. It’s a pity to have missed the testing day, but after the crash in the race I needed to rest to recover for this race. We are in Top3 in the World Standing, we showed that we are competitive and we are ready to confirm it on our home soil, where the fans will give us that extra energy that motivates us even more!”
FRANCO MORBIDELLI
“I am happy to race at Mugello, my second home race this year after Brazil. The Italian GP is always special, and this track is unique, with the chicanes, the ups and downs and the very high speed. Then, the fans give us an extra energy! In Mugello, our goal is to confirm all the positives both from the Barcelona weekend with the test and from the last few weeks overall. The confidence is coming back, we showed a good speed, and we want to confirm it this weekend too! We look forward to being on track and see how it goes, but we stay focused.”
