The Argentina GP Sprint has been packed with battles for the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team, which proved to be a great contender with Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli. Both riders delivered consistent performances, with the Roman rider finishing in P5 and his teammate in P7.
Fabio was sixth on the grid (1’37”286) after securing the Q2 straightaway and improved the final place in the Sprint, by finishing fifth. On the Argentinean Saturday, Di Giannantonio was a strong contender on his Ducati Desmosedici GP25, a bike he’s becoming familiar with. He fought with his rivals getting valuable points for the championship and he is now eighth in the World Standings with 11 points.
A strong race for Franco, who made it through Q1 and secured eighth in Q2 (1’37”382). Although he had a challenging start in the Sprint, he bounced back, and he battled for the Top5. Morbidelli finished seventh despite not feeling well, and he is now fourth in the World Standings with 21 points. The goal for tomorrow is to recover physically and to continue fighting for the top positions.
FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO
“It was a good day, even though I expected more after yesterday’s performance. But we are happy because we did a good job, we are improving together the feeling with the bike. In the Sprint, I wanted to push harder in the first laps to set my pace, but we must be happy, a P5 in our second Saturday race is a great result. I’m still struggling physically, but the potential is huge and we are there, we’ll give it another go tomorrow.”
FRANCO MORBIDELLI
“The Sprint was positive despite a bad start. I recovered some places, but when I arrived to the Top5 I couldn’t attack. Still, I got valuable points and important data for tomorrow’s race. I’m not feeling well physycally, with some nausea and headache. I will rest today to recover and be in better shape tomorrow.”
