Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli secure a direct Q2 spot on Friday of the German GP with the third and the tenth place respectively.

The last weekend before the summer break starts with positive feelings for the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team: on Friday of the German GP, Fabio Di Giannantonio secures the direct Q2 with the third place. Franco Morbidelli has reasons to smile: he finishes Practice in tenth place and he secures the crucial Qualifying session.

It was a strong start to the day for Di Giannantonio, who ended FP1 in third place. Fabio showed a great pace in Practice as well, confirming his Top3. The rider from Rome improved his best laptime, securing the direct Q2 spot once again. After setting his laptime in 1’19”674, Di Giannantonio confirmed to be a great key contender on Friday at Sachsenring too.

Morbidelli had a positive Friday too: in the morning session in secured the ninth place. Franco reached his goal on the first day, since he improved both his pace and hit time attack in Practice, getting the Top10 and the direct Q2. In the crucial afternoon session, the Italian Brazilian rider confirmed his steps forward improving his best laptime and ending the day in 1’20”032.

The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team will return to the track on Saturday for qualifying, which will begin at 10:50 (local time). This will be followed by the Sprint race at 15:00 (local time). The German GP will conclude with the main race on Sunday, starting at 14:00 (local time).

“I am very happy, today’s goal was to secure the direct Q2 and we got it. I am very satisfied with the race pace too: we did a simulation with medium tyres and we were quite fast. We must make a step forward in terms of time attack to be even closer to the top. In the last sector we struggle and we lose a bit, but we’re on the right direction. Tomorrow the Qualifying will be crucial, especially for the new layout of the starting grid.”

“Today we found many positives: we secured direct Q2 for 13 thousandhts and we were very fast! This result makes me happy, even because the day didn’t start well because of some problems, but we worked well and we solved them during FP1. Now we must stay focused on all the positives of this Friday and keep working because there are some things to improve for tomorrow.”
