In Sunday’s race at MotorLand Aragon, the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team is seventh with Fabio Di Giannantonio, who is back in fourth place in the World Standing. Franco Morbidelli crashed.
The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team had a challenging Aragon GP: Fabio Di Giannantonio ended his Sunday’s race in seventh place, but he earned important points which allowed him to be back in fourth place in the Championship. It was a complicated Sunday for Franco Morbidelli, who crashed on lap six, luckily with no physical consequences.
Starting from the third row, Di Giannantonio was able to maintain his position, getting closer to the large group battling for the podium positions. Fabio showed a good pace, which allowed him to defend his seventh place with determination. The rider from Rome confirmed his consistency as he crossed the finish line of the Aragon GP in seventh place. With today’s result, Di Giannantonio is back in fourth place in the World Standing with 208 points, with 48 points gap from the leader and 24 from the Top3.
Morbidelli had a good start from the fourth row, and he could stay in the fight for the Top10 right from the first stages. Franco showed a good pace which allowed him to stay in the group of the first ten riders. But bad luck stopped his progression: the Italian-Brazilian rider crashed at Turn 17 on lap six while he was tenth. Morbidelli is sixteenth in the World Standing with 53 points.
The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team is back on track in two weeks for one of the most awaited rounds of the season: we are back home for the San Marino and Riviera di Rimini GP, which will take place at the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli” from 11th to 13th September.

“It was a tough weekend, but we were expecting to struggle a bit. Yesterday’s crash didn’t help us, but we didn’t give up and we continued working. Today it was important to finish the race and earn important points: we did it, we ended in seventh place, and this position allowed us to be back in fourth place in the Championship. For sure, this is the most positive side of this weekend. Now we head to Misano, where we bring all the positives to face the home race weekend with a free mind.”
FRANCO MORBIDELLI
“In today’s race I had a good start, and I could stay in the group fighting for the Top10. Unfortunately, I made a mistake at Turn 17 and I crashed. But I was feeling much better today than in the Sprint and I was in the group where I could have been able to be seventh, and this is positive. Overall, it was a positive weekend: the Team worked at his maximum again to put all things together and make steps forward, as we proved in Qualifying with the fast laps. Now, we go to Misano, where we try to make a great work.”

“It was a more complicated weekend than usual, but we go home with some positives. Unfortunately, Fabio crashed in the Sprint, but in today’s race he secured a seventh place and collected some important points, being back on fourth place in the World Standing. Franco keeps making steps forward and he had been fighting with determination during all the weekend, securing another direct Q2 in Qualifying. It’s a pity for today’s crash, but it’s racing and it can happen. We must keep looking ahead. Now we head to the Team’s home race: we must do our maximum and it will be important to understand what happened during this weekend to be back stronger in Misano.”
