Bezzecchi 98 thousandths away from the Q2 in Malaysia

The rider of the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team has almost reached the Top10, 12th at the end of the practices. 21st, after an excellent start in FP1 (ninth), Andrea Iannone

Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), November 1st 2024 - Marco Bezzecchi closes the Friday just 98 thousandths away from the Top10 and the direct access to tomorrow's Q2 (10.50 Q1 - 11.15 Q2). The rider of the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team is 12th. P21, but a more than positive balance, for Andrea Iannone on his debut aboard the Ducati DesmosediciGP.

Among the fastest in the morning session (P3, 01:59.848) Marco has struggled to keep up the pace with the strongest guys and closes with a gap of seven tenths and a lap time of 1'58.460.

Lots of enthusiasm, a warm welcome and a great start in FP1 for Andrea (ninth, 02:00.651) who improved his lap time to 1'59.618 in the afternoon. Tomorrow at 3:00 pm he will take the track for the first time in his career to compete in the Sprint.

The feeling while riding has definitely improved compared to the tests and I'm happy about that. The difficulties are very similar to those encountered in February: with new tires I struggle, the bike doesn't turn. I'm struggling between turns 5/6, then in turns 11, 12 and 14. It's a shame about the Q2, lost by breath, this complicates things, but there are some positive notes overall.

Andrea Iannone
I have to say that I'm happy and we couldn't have started better this morning with the Top10. Everything is new, the technological step has been really impressive compared to the past. First of all, there are the tires to understand, it's not easy, but with in every run, especially this afternoon with used tires, the sensations were better. Tomorrow we'll try to do my best, it will be my first Sprint. What can I say: the evolution is incredible, especially in terms of aerodynamics. You can't understand the limit, maybe this is the real difficulty. A great day!
