Third place for Franco Morbidelli, while Fabio Di Giannantonio is ninth on Friday of the Spanish GP. Good feelings for both riders, who go straight to Q2.
The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team is back to Europe securing the direct Q2 both with Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Di Giannantonio on Friday of the Spanish Gran Prix. Both riders showed a good rhythm throughout the day, with the #21 in third place and the #49 in ninth at the end of the Practice.
Good feelings for Morbidelli, who had a constantly growing day: after ending the FP1 in tenth place, he improved more and more on Friday, securing the direct Q2 in third place (1’36”153). Franco made good steps in terms of rhythm, but also on the time attack with new tyres.
A lot of work on track and in the garage for Di Giannantonio, who tried some different settings on his Ducati Desmosedici GP. Fabio was twelfth in the FP1, and he improved his time in the crucial PR, securing the Q2 with the ninth place (1’36”636).
The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team is back on track on Saturday for the qualifying, that start at 10:50 a.m. (local time CET). The Sprint will start at 3 p.m. (local time).
FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO
“Today we tried a quite different setting on the bike to try to do a step, but we need to work a lot on it and we don’t have much time. So, we went back to a situation I’m more familiar with, but I didn’t work on the tyres and on the setup. The good thing is that we are very quick, on this track we’ve always been fast. If we fix some little things, there is a lot of margin and we can get closer to the top.”
FRANCO MORBIDELLI
“It was a very positive day, with no setbacks, and that was we hope for. Today we made a great job improving the bike from this morning to this afternoon, both in terms of race pace and of speed with new tyres. We are strong almost on all the track, but we still miss something in the first sector, so we must analize the data. I am happy and confident for tomorrow, putting together a good lap will be crucial, there will be a lot of traffic, the track is very tight. But the goal is the front row.”
