A complicated race for the riders of the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team: long lap for Fabio and crash at the start, fortunately without consequences, for Marco
Silverstone (UK), August 3rd 2024 – A complicated Sprint for the riders of the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team at Silverstone where the British GP will be host tomorrow celebrating the 75th anniversary of the World Motorcycling Championship with the special retro-style liveries. Fabio Di Giannantonio crossed the finishing line in ninth place, while Marco Bezzecchi was forced to retire after an crash at the first corner.
Starting from tenth place on the grid, but with a good pace, Fabio recovered to eighth place before being forced to a long lap penalty for track limits at the end of the race. He scored a point and is eighth in the overall standings (93 points).
An early epilogue for Marco due to an accident on the first corner after starting from twelfth position. Victim of a bad crash and then taken to the medical center for further checks, which ruled out injuries to his right foot, he will undergo physiotherapy in preparation for tomorrow's race (01.00 pm - local time).

Marco Bezzecchi - 72
A shorter race than expected: I didn't have a bad start, I tried to keep my inside line at the first corner, but I just felt a big hitand found myself in the air. The impact with the tarmac was hard, I immediately felt pain in my foot, but after the x-ray at the medical center we ruled out injuries. I’m painful, we're trying to use these hours to recover with physiotherapy and understand in what condition we can return to the track tomorrow.
Fabio Di Giannantonio - 49
A real shame about the long lap because I was in the slipstream of the group fighting for the Top5. A mistake, I'm sorry, the pace was really good, I felt really comfortable on the bike and we had a great start, one of the best of the year. Looking ahead to tomorrow I'm positive, let's use today's data, take another step forward and stay focused.
