The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team secures the third place with Fabio DI Giannantonio, who brings the special livery “Cremonini Live 25” to the podium at Mugello. Franco Morbidelli is sixth.
The home race has always a special taste, but with the “Cremonini Live 25” colors it’s even more special: the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team gets the podium in the Italian GP with Fabio Di Giannantonio, who secures his second podium of the season. Franco Morbidelli ends the race in sixth place.
Di Giannantonio started from the third row, and right away he showed a great pace that allowed him to be in the podium fight. Fabio brought the Ducati Desmosedici GP to the third place with a good comeback and amazing overtakes: so, he got his best result in career at Mugello. Fabio is still fifth in the World Standings with 120 points.
Morbidelli had a more complicated race, he started from the sixth place, and he was in the podium fight from the start. An incident and a penalty affected his race, yet he showed a good pace. Despite the unexpected events, Franco finished the Italian GP in sixth place, and he is still fourth in the championship with 128 points.
The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team is back on track in some days for the Dutch GP. The tenth round of the MotoGP season will take place in Assen from 27th to 29th June.
FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO
“I grew up looking at the Italian riders on the Mugello podium. Being in third place in front of these amazing fans is a dream. In the race, when I was fourth, I was saying to myself ‘not a fourth place, not today’. I pushed until the end, and I gave everything, at the end we made a good overtake and we took the third place. It’s amazing for us, especially for the way we came back to our shape after the last difficult races. This result gives us a lot of motivation for the next races. We must work on the qualifying to start more in front, but the feeling of being on the podium in Italy is wonderful, I have goosebumps! And with these colors of the ‘Cremonini Live 25’ livery is even more special!”
FRANCO MORBIDELLI
“I had a really good start and I was trying to manage the tyres at the maximum behind the top three guys, who were pushing a lot. I wanted to manage as much as possible to arrive with a good potential in the hardest moment of the race. But I made a mistake, and I had a battle with Vinales. Unfortunately, we had a contact, and he crashed. I apologized to him. I lost time for the double Long Lap, but we finished in sixth place, that is a decent result considering all the things that happened. There are positive aspects like the fastest lap in the race; so, it means that the potential is very high, we keep working to put all the things together.”
PABLO NIETO
“It was a wonderful weekend! The Cesare Cremonini special livery, the unveiling in Bologna and the podium in the race make us very happy. He has something special that he brought to us in Mugello and thanks to this love, as he says, we got the podium. I am very happy for Diggia, because his last races were difficult. Being back on the podium is always positive and I think we found a good compromise. If we are strong here, we will be competitive in all the other tracks. It’s a pity for Franco’s penalty, but I’m very happy with his work. Being in sixth place after two long laps is a great result.”
