Di Giannantonio claims the podium in Silverstone Sprint

Fabio Di Giannantonio is third on Saturday’s British GP and claims his first Sprint podium of the season and second in his career. Challenging race for Franco Morbidelli, who is 11th.

The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team is back on the podium in Great Britain with Fabio Di Giannantonio, who is third in the Sprint – his first podium on Saturday of the year. Franco Morbidelli struggled more and he finished 11th, but very close to the Top10.

Di Giannantonio made a great start and he was battling right away in the front group, keeping a good pace during all the 10 race laps. Fabio started from the seventh position on the grid (1:58.126) and he bounced back to the third place. He claimed his second Sprint podium in his career – his first one was in Qatar in 2023 – and his first of 2025 and with the team, after the third place in Austin on Sunday.

Morbidelli had a more complicated Saturday, he struggled in qualifying and he started from the 10th position on the grid (1:58.225). Despite the difficulties, the #21 rider fought to bounce back and he was very close to the Top10. Franco ended the Sprint in 11th place.

The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team is back on track on Sunday for the main race of the British Grand Prix, that will start at 1 p.m. (local time. +1 CET).

FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO
“In the last couple of races we struggled, so being back at this level is a great achievement for me and the team. I think that this week at home has been super good for us because we worked so hard, we did plenty of videocalls to try to understand how to improve and all the things we tried are working. I’m super proud of the team. I did a good start and I was able to keep the pace during all the Sprint. Today I expected to do a good Sprint, but not that good in terms of results. I think that for tomorrow we are in a good shape, we can work a little bit more and try to be as close as possible to the podium guys to repeat today’s result.”

FRANCO MORBIDELLI
“The Sprint was tough, I had a problem in the first lap and I lost many positions. Then I struggled because it’s very hard to bounce back when you are behind. But my laptimes were not bad. We advanced from the Q1, that is always difficult because there are many strong riders. In that moment, without any slipstream, we did a 58.2, only two tenths far from the front rows. Looking at the laptimes I had in the final stages of the race, I am confident for tomorrow. We need to improve more and maybe we could be competitive despite the three places grid penalty for tomorrow.”
