Complicated Sprint for Bezzecchi and Di Giannantonio at Aragon

The riders of the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team are out of the points respectively in P10 and P15

Alcañiz (Spain), August 31st 2024 - A more complicated Sprint than expected for Marco Bezzecchi and Fabio Di Giannantonio at the Aragón GP which takes place tomorrow at Motorland (02.00pm local time). Both out of the Q2, the riders of the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team are on the edge of the points zone respectively in P10 and P15.

Starting from the 13th spot on the grid and capable of taking the eighth place at the start, Marco has struggled to keep up the pace of the strongest riders in the crucial stages of the race. Forced to follow the riders in front of him, he climbs back the standings at the end and loses the P9 right on the finishing line. He remains 11th in the overall rankings with 73 points.

Challenging Saturday, especially from a physical point of view for Fabio, returning at the garage after the dislocation of his shoulder in Austria. 16th in qualifying, after a tough race he approached the Top10 at mid race (104 points, P10 overall).

Marco Bezzecchi - 72

I missed the Q2 by a breath, a real shame because with my lap time I would have started from the second row. I'm very sorry, confirming that Q1 is often almost more complicated than Q2. At the start I got off to a really good start, I recovered a lot, but the fork didn't unlock because the braking wasn't strong enough. It remained stuck until turn 8, I lost a lot of positions then I found myself in the group. It wasn't an easy race, many weren't at 100% confident with their bikes, in terms of performance it wasn't great. Let's go back to the data and understand how to tackle the race tomorrow: with the Moto3 and Moto2 races first, the new asphalt will have a lot of grip.

Fabio Di Giannantonio - 49

Last week I would have signed to be able to do the weekend, I'm very happy about that. We're struggling, we're in the full healing process, but we're doing a good job anyway. We have a good pace, we showed it today in the race. After the start, I was very lucky, the contact with Aleix (Espargaro ed.) had no consequences. I fought a lot, but everything went well. I had a good speed and tomorrow we can recover. Let's see how the shoulder goes and then try to make a good start.
