The rider of the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team recovers from the back of the group to the thirteenth place. Fabio Di Giannantonio was forced to retire due to a technical problem
Austin (USA), April 13th 2024 - Marco Bezzecchi crosses the finishing line of the Sprint (race tomorrow at 02.00 pm local time ndr) in Austin in 13th position, riding the Ducati Desmosedici GP of the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team. Fabio Di Giannantonio was forced to retire immediately after the start due to a technical problem.
Marco, starting from the fourth row of the grid, was stuck in the battle of the first corners, finishing the first lap at the end of the group in P18. Capable of imposing a good pace in the second half of the race, he climbed up the rankings to the 13th place.
Epilogue before we expected, during the first lap, for Fabio, eighth on the grid thanks to a good step forward in the last free practice. After a good start, a technical problem forced him into the garage when he was in P7.

Marco Bezzecchi - 72
A race with a really complicated start: I started well, but then, in the battle, to avoid Pecco, I suddenly had to brake at turn two. I crashed with Alex Marquez and broke a piece of the fairing. Without a wing, the bike is very unbalanced and I found myself at the back of the group. I struggled, but I managed to recover places. The pace isn't bad and I hope to do better tomorrow.
Fabio Di Giannantonio - 49
A much shorter race than expected: I started well, at the first corner I was in a good position, but then in the straight I started to understand that something was wrong with the bike. A real shame, besides the technical problem, I lost the possibility of collecting data. We have to be positive, tomorrow we have another chance and we can do well.
