Double Sprint Podium at Balaton Park

The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team celebrates the podium in the first Sprint of the Hungarian GP with Fabio Di Giannantonio in second place and Franco Morbidelli in third.

The Balaton Park debut in MotoGP smells of podium for the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team, that secures the second and third place in the Sprint with Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli respectively. It’s the first Saturday’s podium in this 2025 campaign.

Di Giannantonio, who clinched the front row (1:36.827) for the second time this year (the first one was at Austin), started well from the third position of the grid. Fabio could move forward to the second place, that kept until the chequered flag. With his second Sprint podium of the season (the first at Silverstone), the #49 rider is fifth in the World Standings with 153 points.

Morbidelli started from the second row, and he recovered positions right from the start, passing from the fifth (1:37.031) to the third place. Franco could show a good pace that allowed him to keep the podium position until the finish line. With his third place, the #21 rider secures his second Sprint podium of the season (his first was in Lusail) and he is sixth in the World Standings with 151 points.

The Hungarian GP will end tomorrow with the main race, which will start at 2 p.m. (local time CET).

FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO
“I hoped for a day like this, we worked for it, and it paid off! We changed quite a lot the bike this morning, and a change on the bike that went against the tyre management, but I expected a little better in terms of consumption. So, for tomorrow we still have to work a little more to improve on this area. Maybe I was a bit slower than the riders behind in the last two laps, so we need to work a little harder to try to keep the same performance level until the end. I am super proud of my team, how we turned around things, how we stayed united working together. Even the results were not coming, and it was difficult to keep the energy, we were able to stay united and work together.”

FRANCO MORBIDELLI
“Today it was a great day for the team in general, Diggia did an amazing race too, and we both had a great qualifying. The Sprint was really good, we were solid. I had a good start, and I was lucky not to get caught in the incident. I could express quite a decent pace; at the end I was feeling really good. It’s great to have such a good performance, we are all happy. After today’s race, we have a lot of confidence, and we must repeat this tomorrow, being solid during all the 26 laps.”
