P1 and new all-time record for Fabio Di Giannantonio in the Practice of the German GP. The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team secures a double Q2 with Franco Morbidelli, who is sixth.
The German GP Friday starts with the all-time lap record for the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team: in the Practice, Fabio Di Giannantonio leads the timesheet with the fastest time ever at Sachsenring and he gets a direct spot in Q2. Franco Morbidelli clinches the Q2 too in the first day with his sixth place.
The Sachsenring weekend starts in a great way for Di Giannantonio, who proves to be competitive since the first session and improves in the Practice. Fabio sets the pace being the fastest and he breaks the new all-time lap record on the German track (1:19.071).
Morbidelli is satisfied with his day too, as he completes a consistent Friday at Sachsenring, with a lot of work in the garage and on track in both sessions. Franco is competitive in the Practice, and he finishes in sixth place (1:19.592).
The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team is back on track on Saturday for qualifying, which begins at 10:50 a.m. (local time CET). The Sprint race will follow at 3:00 p.m. (local time). The German Grand Prix will end on Sunday with the main race, that will start at 2 p.m. (local time).
FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO
“It has been a good day for us with a great lap at the end, that is also the new all-time record. I’m very happy with my lap, it wasn’t easy because, usually, at Sachsenring the first lap is the good one, but we managed to do a great lap time at our third one. It’s good to start the weekend like this, but it’s only Friday. We must keep the feet on the ground and just work to stay focused and improve even more. If it’s dry tomorrow, many riders will improve, so it’s important for us to confirm the good feelings both in qualifying and in the Sprint. If it’s wet, I’m curious to see how the bike will be in the rain, now that we made some steps on dry conditions.”
FRANCO MORBIDELLI
“It was a positive day, we’ve been working on different tyres, many things on the setting. During the time attack, my laptime was good enough to good through. I’m happy because this Friday was a bit better than usual. Still, we have to work on something, today I struggled with the rear grip, but we are there and the weekend started well. There’s something to develop in order to fight for the podium in tomorrow’s Sprint and Sunday’s race. The weather will be crucial, so let’s see what happens.”
