Morbidelli just a step away from the podium in Aragon Sprint

Consistent Saturday for the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team, with Franco Morbidelli in fourth place in the Sprint. Fabio Di Giannantonio bounces back and he’s sixth.

The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team riders were great contenders in Aragon Sprint, that was packed with battles and adrenaline. Franco Morbidelli, who was third on the grid, has always been in the fight for the podium, and he ended the race in fourth place. Fabio Di Giannantonio made a great comeback and he finished sixth.

Morbidelli was third in qualifying, securing his first front row of 2025 and with the team – he’s one of the only five riders who has always been in Q2 this year. In the Sprint, Franco mantained a good pace and he was constantly in the fight for the podium. Solid race for the #21 rider, who arrived to the finish line in fourth place, so he keeps the fourth position in the World Standings with 104 points.

Di Giannantonio has a more complicated qualifying, and he was tenth after going through the Q1. In the Sprint, Fabio started from the fourth row and he bounced back right from the lights off, so he could reach the top group. The #49 rider was sixth at the chequered flag and he still sits in sixth in the World Standings with 92 points.

The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team is back on track on Sunday for the main race of Aragon GP, that will start at 2 p.m. (local time CET).

FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO
“I has a great start, the best I ever had in terms of speed this year. I put myself in a good position rigth from the first lap and I tried to take advantage of the second part of the race because I had the medium tyre. I wanted to collect some data for tomorrow, but it was a great move because the medium worked well and I was feeling strong in braking and in the overtakes. I took a lot of time to overtake Quartararo, if I had been able to pass him sooner, I would have done something more. I can’t wait for the race tomorrow."

FRANCO MORBIDELLI
“It was a great Saturday overall, starting in front row and having a good start in the Sprint. In the beginning I was struggling with the new tyres and I felt somehow less potential than the guys in front. Then I was feeling better and better, after 6-7 laps I had a better grip. I lost the third position, but I was able to keep the fourth place. I was feeling better at the end of the race than at the start. For tomorrow we will try something to improve our speed with new tyres. The medium tyre is the best choice for the main race.”
